The Other Side of the Mountain

VURILO is a rapidly expanding digital art collection, conceived from photographs taken on location in the Vuriloche region—the original Bariloche, whose name in Mapudungun evokes the territory that lies on the other side of the mountain. Flowers, stones, tree trunks, and landscapes serve as the starting point: images captured directly in the territory that are then manipulated using fractal structures—mathematical patterns found in nature that act as a counterpoint between the organic and the digital. The works are in a 16:9 aspect ratio, in dialogue with the vertical orientation of contemporary devices, and are available for printing on museum-quality canvas—up to 160 × 90 cm—in a limited edition of five originals, each with its own certificate of authenticity.
